Hi there! I’m Susannah.
I’m a writer, editor and media relations professional at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. (Needless to say, the views expressed here are my own and not necessarily those of my employer. As you were.)
In 2002, I began alpha testing an MMORPG called Puzzle Pirates. I made friends around the world and saw a homegrown effort explode to include millions of subscribers. Since then, I’ve been very interested in the politics of various forms of social media, technology and communication — and what happens when they intersect with real life. I’ve blogged in one form or another since 2003, and I co-moderate a large community (7000+) of knitters. I overuse emoticons; I text in full sentences; I refuse to type without caps.
This blog is just a bunch of musings on the machinations necessary to keep up with culture, media, technology, and everything else. I’m not stupid; I’m not lazy; I just want to keep the TiVo programmed and live my life.
I’ll bet you do, too.
If you’ve read this far, congrats! I welcome questions, comments and just about any other form of communication — the crazier, the better — either here or at rhodesbrooks at gmail dot com.
