I’m all for food safety, but for good pistachios, I’ll put my life on the line.

Anybody else notice that the link to “Tribulation Force” actually just leads to a .wav file from Red Dawn? Nice.

Half my cow-orkers live in Bachman’s district. What I think a lot of people don’t understand is that regardless of how embarrassing she may be, she’s going to be around until she loses a primary fight. That’s because the district is wealthy and conservative enough that they’re unlikely to elect any of the “we’ll tax you ’til you cry, and then we’ll tax your tears” candidates that the DFL runs against her.

Also, I feel the way about End Timers the same way as I feel about the Climate Changeists: apocalyptic death cultists who ignore real-world problems in favor of grandiose theories that just coincidentally allow them to tell us all how we must live. Screw ’em all!

The passive barriers argument falls down because there exist passive barriers preventing me from removing the passive barriers preventing me from removing the passive barriers preventing me from achieving world domination.

To wit: That guy just left me a phone message offering me teh awesumbest job in the world if I call him back right away, but I don’t have any scratch paper to write down his number. I’d get a memo pad, except that I don’t want to make a trip in the car just for that, so I need to make a shopping list. I’d make a shopping list, but I don’t have any scratch paper. Oh, well. Guess I’ll just watch the infomercials on cable.

In my world, we refer to that as shaving a yak.
